Operating mainly in South East Asia, we fund initiatives that aim to educate, nurture and inspire young people so that they can become changemakers. As local or national leaders, they will then be capable of finding effective development solutions and mobilising others into action. All our programmes involve building capacity in the countries where we operate, using local staff as much as possible and training these staff in the skills they need.
Our programmes range from developing excellent quality schools to university scholarships and leadership training, through to supporting expectant mothers and providing access to medical care. We focus on creating a level playing field for all young people, so that their future life opportunities are determined by merit, not race, sex, politics or poverty.
We are very proud to partner with national governments and have proved ourselves capable of forging exceptional relationships where others in the past have found this difficult.
The FFF is actively involved in promoting better education in South East Asia, to further our mission to build civil society in the region. We are actively involved in developing and managing schools in partnership with government that can deliver a high quality education to thousands of young people, and supporting promising future leaders, all the way through university.
The FFF helps promote better health in a number of communities in South East Asia. We work to link up health initiatives to ensure the students we support are fit and healthy to pursue their education. In addition, the FFF supports several health programmes, outside of its core focus, that directly address poverty by providing health services to communities where we are active, which would otherwise lack any health provision.
Community and Civil Society
The FFF supports organizations, academics and communities who are working to advance and develop civil society. In keeping with the way we operate, we seek to build on the strengths of individuals, organisations, communities and movements to advocate on their own behalf and on behalf of others.
